Returning
All I want to do is sit alone with you,
I’m sorry, I didn’t come home as soon as I needed to.
But here you stayed, keeping your porch light on, doors unlocked.
Calling my name into the darkness of night,
Until my eyes finally saw your light.
There is nothing I want more than to be close to you,
I don’t ever wish to leave your side,
So, God hide me until I am ready;
Hide me, until this weakened floor feels steady.
All I want now, is to sit with you.
