Galaxies
Bleeding heart why do you cry?
Have you not looked up, to admire the stars in the sky?
How they so brightly shine, just for you and I.
Returning; dimly lit and sunken eyed.
How long has it been since I’ve died?
It’s been some time.
Now it’s you and I,
Look just how quickly time passes by,
When my head is not rooted but in the heavens,
Past the galaxies.
But all is well, I’m here for now.
Lying beside the gravestone, I’d given you,
Made for you, traced for you — Won’t you let me erase it, for you?
Perfectly knit in the well beneath my skin.
All those sins have been forgiven.
There is no more need to cry.
I assure you my friend, this well has been filled.
Remember this when you’re lonely or lost in the oblivion,
And no one is by your side.
Keep me closely in the dark, where you choose to hide.
Let this be your guide; hold onto each of the dying lights,
Watch how they dance, look how they shine.
They are so similar, the stars; To you and I.
So kindly they surround, beaming down.
How costly it must be, and has been.
To comfort the lilies and roses lining our sky’s,
So please, don’t you cry.
I know this world is cold, and you grow weary of the coming night.
Lying beneath the gravestone,
We both seem to confide.
I urge you to sit with me tonight, and breathe in the life,
I realize, can only be found in the darkest of skies.
